GUAA Seeking Male Representative to Serve on Athletic Council
The Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) is looking for a male representative to serve on the Athletic Coucil. Rocco DeVito, '64, has been the male representative but now that his term has ended, GUAA is opening the slot to anyone interested in serving on the council. The deadline to express interest is Thursday, October 23, 2014 at noon.
Rooms Available at Kellogg during Homecoming
Rooms at Kellogg are being made available to all alumni for this year, only during Homecoming and are available at special rates until Monday, October 6. On October 7, room rates may increase once rooms are released to the general public so take advantage of the opportunity to stay at Kellogg at reduced rates during Homecoming by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations.
Campus traffic, parking modifications on Homecoming Day
Modicatoins to campus traffic patterns and alternate parking arrangements are in place for the Homecoming Day on Saturday, October 25.
Homecoming Day 2014 Booth Application Form
If your organization wants to set up a booth at this year's Homecoming on October 25, applications for booths are now available at Campus Activities. The deadline to submit the application is Friday, October 10, at 11:59 p.m. EST. If you plan to mail the application, please be very mindful of the mail delivery time.
Theatre Arts Presents Visible Language, A Musical
The Theatre Arts department is presenting a play, Visible Language, a world premiere musical based on the 1890s battle between Alexander Graham Bell and Edward Miner Gallaudet. Eastman Studio Theater. The play opens Tuesday, October 22 and runs until November.
Riverside (CA) GUAA Chapter Hosting Recpetion to Honor Bummy Burstein
The Riverside (CA) GUAA Chapter is hosting a reception in Gerald "Bummy" Burstein, '50's honor on Saturday, October 12. The chapter plans to recognize Bummy for the numerous ways he has contributed to the deaf community over the years. Alumni will have an opportunity to share stories about Bummy and a MOU will be signed at the reception. Click on the link for more information.
Account Spoofing & Phishing Attacks
In recent weeks there have been a series of spoofing and phishing attacks on the general public including Gallaudet alumni. This has affected alumni who receive Gallaudet publications. Gallaudet Technology Services took a moment to notify the community about account spoofing and phishing attacks. The Office of Alumni Relations felt this information was important enough to be extended to the alumni community.
