Homecoming attracts large number of alumni
An unusually large number of alumni returned to their alma mater for Homecoming 2012 to enjoy the best of all the campus has to offer. Two class reunions broke attendance records.
President Hurwitz to be guest of honor at Gallaudet & Clerc banquet in KY
The Kentucky Chapter of the GUAA is hosting the 40th anniversary Gallaudet & Clerc Banquet on December 6 in Danville, Ky., where President Hurwitz will be the guest of honor. The deadline for tickets is December 3.
Provost Stephen Weiner to be guest speaker at GUAA Southeastern Florida Chapter holiday luncheon
The Southeastern Florida Chapter of the GUAA is hosting a holiday luncheon on Sunday, December 2, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. where Dr. Stephen Weiner, '78 & G-'80, the University's provost, will be the guest of honor. The luncheon is at the Marriott on Singer Island Riveria Beach, Fla., and the deadline to buy tickets is November 23.

Gallaudet to host People of Color Conference
Gallaudet University will be the host site of the Third National Deaf People of Color conference, June 13-16. The theme of the conference is "All for One, One for All," and is geared toward deaf people of color to celebrate the similarities and differences among cultures, and to provide a forum to discuss issues related to education, families, and the need for community advocacy to support a multicultural deaf constituency.
Fund in honor of Kellie Pagano fully endowed
A fund formed in honor of Kellie (Valdez) Pagano (G-'05) recently became fully endowed, ensuring that her name will live at Gallaudet in perpetuity. She was a member of the Gallaudet Dance Company and taught second graders at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School until her sudden passing in 2007.
Sesquicennetial Lecture Series Committee seeks input
The Sesquicentennial Lecture Series will take place during the 2013-2014 academic year in honor of the 150th anniversary of Gallaudet University. The committee for the lecture series seeks recommendations in bringing distinguished guests and alumni to campus to share their expertise.
Gallaudet University calls for honorary degree nominations for Commencement 2014
Gallaudet University is currently collecting honorary degree nominations to be awarded at its 145th Commencement in May 2014, a special year in Gallaudet's history as the university celebrates its 150th anniversary. With these awards, the University seeks to recognize deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing individuals for exemplary service to the deaf and hard of hearing community.
