Names of alumni who passed away in 2014 listed
The Office of Alumni Relations lists the Gallaudet alumni who passed away last year. A total of 85 Gallaudet alumni who are known to have passed away during 2014 are listed alphabetically with full name, class year, and date of death. The Office of Alumni Relations is proud of the lifetime accomplishments of each of our alumni and wishes to honor the memory of those who left us in 2014.
Gallaudet Alumni Making WAVES in the Pacific-Stimulating Minds, Touching Hearts, & Inspiring Success!
Gallaudet alumni have been found in the western Pacific region, serving as volunteer teachers, teaching deaf and deaf-blind students, who have never had full access to education before. Gallaudet signed a Memorandum of Agreement with WorldTeach to establish a collaborative partnership that created Deaf WorldTeach. The Gallaudet alumni who was part of the Deaf WorldTeach described life-changing and life-enhancing experiences. Open the link to read more!
Last Call: Take a Look at the Exhibition for the Last Time
Grab an opportunity to check the "Making a Difference: Deaf Peace Corps Volunteers" exhibition by the Gallaudet University Museum that is currently located at the Weyerhaeuser Family Gallery and Exhibition Hall of the I. King Jordan Student Academic Center before it is turned into a newly created exhibition featuring "Deaf HERstory."
Gallaudet Dance Company Celebrating 60 Years of Dance!
The Gallaudet Dance Company is celebrating its 60th anniversary on April 3 and 4 in Elstad Auditorium by gathering its largest group of deaf and hard of hearing dancers ever to perform together on a single stage! The 2015 Gallaudet Dancers will be joined by Gallaudet Alumni Dancers from the 50's, 70's, and 90's along with other guest artists. See flyer for ticket information.
Memorial Service for Michael Fields at Peikoff Alumni House on April 9, 2015
Please join us in remembering the life of Michael "Mickey" Fields at the Peikoff Alumni House ("Ole Jim") on April 9, 2015. Mickey started working at Gallaudet in 1980 for 33 years and retired as a construction director. He oversaw the 2007 Peikoff Alumni House renovation. He is survived by his wife, Susan and her two children, his brothers, and his daughter as well as nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Charter Day Awards and Brunch Tickets on Sale!
This year's award recipients for the 46th Annual Charter Day Awards and Brunch Program are a diverse group of outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the deaf community. The awards program will be held Saturday, April 11, at the Peikoff Alumni House, and the deadline for tickets is Wednesday, April 1. See flyer for ticket information.
