GUAA Election Screening Committee picks nominees for final slate of candidates
The GUAA Election Screening Committee has selected nominees for the GUAA Board of Directors' final ballot. The names of the candidates are announced here.

Commencement student speakers announced
Joy Ann Fraychineaud will speak on behalf of the undergraduate Class of 2012, and Tammy Demetrius Jacobs will represent the graduate students at Gallaudet's 143rd Commencement Exercises on Friday, May 11, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the Field House.

Charter Day takes on new twist
The 43rd Charter Day awards program and reception on April 14 honored six outstanding individuals for their work and dedication to the deaf community. This year, the event took place during the Academic Bowl.

Gallaudet University celebrates Thomas O. Berg, names track in his honor
It was an emotional and joyous occasion when Gallaudet University celebrated the legendary career of the late Thomas O. Berg, '44, who coached cross country and track and field programs for 30 years. The Department of Athletics held a luncheon and ribbon cutting ceremony on April 17 to honor Berg by naming the track at Hotchkiss Field after him.

Valley of the Sun Chapter to host cookout
The Valley of the Sun (Phoenix, Ariz.) GUAA Chapter is hosting a cookout on Saturday, May 26. President and First Lady Hurwitz will be the guests of honor. Admission is $10 (rsvp by May 21). See the flyer for more information.
