Adele Jensen Krug, '30, oldest living alumnus, passes away
The Office of Alumni Relations announces with much regret that Adele Jensen Krug, '30, passed away on May 20. At 104 years old, she was Gallaudet's oldest living alumnus. A gathering was held May 23 at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, Alexandria, Va.
Gallaudet announces Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2012
Five former student-athletes, a coach, and a writer will be inducted into the Gallaudet University Athletic Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 28, as part of Homecoming 2012.
Board of Trustees has productive meeting during Commencement weekend
In a letter from Board of Trustees Chair Benjamin Soukup, H-'00, highlights of the board meeting are outlined. The letter includes recognition to the Development Office for achieving $5.3 million in new gifts and pledges to the University to date--exceeding its goal of $3.2 million--and coming very close to meeting its 15 percent goal in alumni giving for 2012.
Board of Trustees approves 2022 campus plan
Gallaudet announced on May 21 that its Board of Trustees has approved the goals and direction of the plan that articulates the vision for the campus over the next decade and provides guidance for the physical development of University facilities.
The June "On The Green" e-Newsletter is Released!
The June issue of "On the Green" is out! This month's e-newsletter features stories about Gallaudet's recently announced collaboration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in an effort to increase the number of Gallaudet students and graduates who apply for internships and jobs with the federal agency; the 2022 Campus Plan; and Gallaudet community service and outreach projects.
Help recruit. Tell your story
The Office of Communications and Public Relations would like to include alumni profiles in recruitment materials it is developing for prospective undergraduate students. Prospective students and their parents, as well as Vocational Rehabilitation counselors and others often want to know where Gallaudet graduates are employed because it increases their confidence in the value of a Gallaudet University education. Please help us by filling out a brief alumni profile.
Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures offers online basic French
The course, which debuts this fall, is open to current college or high school students, alumni, Washington, D.C. area consortium students, deaf students at mainstream institutions, and adults.
