GUAA pens letter opposing the AB2072 bill for deaf and hard of hearing children
The GUAA has written a letter of opposition to the California Legislature committee reviewing state bill AB2072, which would change the system of newly diagnosed deaf and hard of hearing children to be given information on communication opportunities.

Dr. Khadijat "Kubby" Rashid, chair of Gallaudet's Department of Business, is one of 13 outstanding men and women appointed to serve as White House Fellows for 2010-2011.

Obama announces plans to nominate Young-Holmes, '74, to key administration post
President Barack Obama announced on Friday, June 25 that he plans to nominate Pamela Young-Holmes, a former Gallaudet trustee, as a member of the National Council on Disability.

Dwight Benedict, '80, Named to ICSD Board
The International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) has announced the appointment of A. Dwight Benedict to its Board. Benedict brings a wide range of experience to ICSD, which organizes the Summer and Winter Deaflympics.
