Gallaudet is hosting a breakfast for alumni and friends at the Deaf Seniors of America Conference in Chicago, Ill. on Sunday, September 4, 7-9 a.m. Please RSVP by Monday, August 22 with your $10 gift.

Now is the time for 2012 alumni awards nominations
Names of outstanding individuals are needed for Gallaudet University Alumni Association and Laurent Clerc Cultural Fund awards. Winners will be recognized at the annual Charter Day program in April.
Lawrence R. Newman, prominent advocate for rights in deaf community, dies
Lawrence R. Newman, a two-term president of the National Association of the Deaf, passed away on July 4 at age 86. He was a member of Gallaudet's Class of 1948 and received an honorary doctorate degree from the University in 1978.
Spud Chapter (Idaho) of the GUAA to host 'Black Sand' film
The Spud Chapter (Idaho) of the GUAA will showcase "Black Sand," an ASL film, on Friday, August 12 to raise money for both the Gallaudet University Alumni Association and the Spud Chapter Scholarship Fund.
