GUAA and Hands on Travel join forces to provide alumni tours
The Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) and Hands on Travel (HOT), a deaf - owned travel agency in Italy that is run by Terry Giansanti, '98, are thrilled to announce a partnership has been formed. HOT will provide tours for alumni, their families and friends with a portion of the proceeds going to GUAA. The first tour is slated for September - October 2014 and will focus on deaf history and heritage in France.

Office of Alumni Relations to bring Gallaudet to Baltimore
The Office of Alumni Relations plans to have a booth at the Deaf Seniors of America conference in Baltimore, Md. beginning at noon on Friday, August 23 and from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily until Monday, August 26. Gallaudet will also be hosting breakfast on Sunday, August 25 from 7 - 8 a.m.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) has granted Gallaudet continuing accreditation by the MSCHE.

Trustee Claudia Gordon appointed associate director in White House Office of Public Engagement
President Hurwitz shared news with the campus community in a July 17 email of Board of Trustees member Claudia Gordon's appointment as associate director in the White House Office of Public Engagement. In this position, Ms. Gordon serves President Barack Obama's administration as an adviser on disability issues.

San Diego (CA) Chapter of the GUAA to host fundraiser for Gallaudet students
The San Diego Chapter of the GUAA is hosting a banquet on Saturday, September 14 from 6-9 p.m. at Tio Leo's, 3510 Valley Centre Drive, San Diego, CA 92130. Jennifer Kononenko, '00 & G-'03, GUAA Board Member - West Region, is the guest speaker and will be providing details on plans for the 150th Anniversary in July 2014. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Gallaudet students who need books and supplies. The deadline to purchase tickets is September 1.
