Conditional approval gained to name track for the late Thomas O. Berg, ’44
The Gallaudet Recognition Committee, after receiving input from the community, has conditional approval from the president to name the track at Hotchkiss Field the “Thomas O. Berg Track at Hotchkiss Field” to honor the late Thomas O. Berg, ’44.

CANCELED: Deaf Seniors of America Conference
The Deaf Seniors of America Conference, which was scheduled to be held in Chicago, Ill., in September, has been canceled. Gallaudet had planned to host a breakfast for alumni and friends at the conference.

GUAA Board member-at-large elected regional center director for Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind
Patrick Robinson, '81, member-at-large of the GUAA Board, has been elected director of the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind's Talladega Regional Center.

Gannons receive International Solidarity Merit Award for newly-published book
Jack R. Gannon and Rosalyn Lee Gannon, both ’59, each received an International Solidarity Merit Award from the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) on July 24 at the XVI World Congress of the WFD in Durban, South Africa.
