Visionary Leaders Announced
In celebration of Gallaudet University's upcoming sesquicentennial anniversary entitled, Celebrating 150 Years of Visionary Leadership, the university will be featuring a Visionary Leader each month from September 2013 to November 2014. The Visionary Leaders were selected through a community-wide nomination process which occurred in the spring of 2013. During the summer, a selection committee of students, faculty, alumni, and staff chose the final 15 Visionary Leaders.

Registration for the Gallaudet Reunion, which will be held July 9-13, 2014, is now online. You will see the full schedule of events when you register. Come and join us for this once in a lifetime celebration of Gallaudet University's 150th and GUAA's 125th anniversaries. See you in July 2014!

Gallaudet to participate in the H Street Festival Saturday, September 21, 2013
Gallaudet University is pleased to be involved in the H Street Festival for the third straight year! The annual H Street Festival, only a few blocks from the university, is an event for the local community to come together for performances, art, music, booths, and plenty of food. Show your school pride by wearing Gallaudet University gear!

Celebrating 150 Years of Visionary Leadership Symposium - Call for Papers
Gallaudet will host a two-day symposium titled "Celebrating 150 Years of Visionary Leadership" April 9-10 in Washington, D.C. This gathering of scholars marks the 150th anniversary of access to higher education for deaf and hard of hearing students.

Nominations now being accepted for Gallaudet University Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2014
Special note: In the previous issue, the deadline for nominations for the Athletic Hall of Fame was mistakenly reported to be December 2, 2014 when the deadline is actualy December 2, 2013. This is the corrected version.

Gallaudet University is proud to host its very first TEDxGallau?det!
The event will take place on Friday, February 28, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gallaudet University. TEDxGallaudet will feature up to four sessions, with five 15-minute presentations in each session, totaling 20 presentations.

Dr. McCay Vernon passes away
Psychologist, author, advocate, and pioneer in the field of deafness and psychology, Dr. McCay Vernon, G-'55 & H-'75, died on Wednesday, August 28 at the age of 84 in St. Augustine, Florida.
