Alumni eNewsletter: Gallaudet Clubs scheduled following regional Academic Bowl competitions in March

Regional Academic Bowls offer exciting mental competition between the best and brightest deaf and hard of hearing high school students. They also present a golden opportunity to meet alumni and friends after the competitions at one of the Gallaudet Clubs. The Gallaudet Club is an informal gathering that GUAA chapters and the Home Office occasionally co-host. It provides an ideal occasion to catch up with one another and learn about what's happening at Gallaudet.

Conceived in 1997, the National Academic Bowl is run by Gallaudet University. The Academic Bowls foster the pursuit of academic excellence, promote a spirit of academic competition and good sportsmanship among participants, and encourage social opportunities for collegiality among students. It is also a good venue for Gallaudet to market its programs and recruit students. President Hurwitz plans to attend each of these events, so this will be a great opportunity for alumni to meet him.

Gallaudet Clubs are scheduled in the cities where regional Academic Bowl competitions will take place in March.

Appetizers at Gallaudet Club events are provided courtesy of Gallaudet University. GUAA chapters/liaison coordinators(St. Augustine, Southeastern Florida, New Jersey, and Rhode Island/Massachusetts) and GURC directors will provide assistance.
