Alumni eNewsletter: Get in the spirit of giving (Archives)

This past year has been an exciting one for Gallaudet and our students. We have made tremendous progress in reforming our curriculum, raising admissions standards, increasing alumni participation, and moving forward with our MSCHE success. These significant accomplishments would not have been possible without sincere dedication by the faculty, staff, students, administrators and our beloved alumni like you! Indeed, we are extremely grateful.

This was also the year we kicked off Buff & Blue Fever. It has been such an exciting experience to see our alumni show the pride they have in Gallaudet and specifically their classes. More and more alumni are supporting Gallaudet University and making a difference in the world. Give now, and move your class to first place in alumni giving! As of December 10, 2007, the top anniversary class gave $10,932 and the top non-anniversary class gave $53,825. The Class of 1957 has achieved an extraordinary participation rate of 43%! The Class of 1943's giving average is at $1,172 per class member. If you would like to see the other top performing classes see the Buff & Blue Fever site for more details! Alumni like you do make a difference. Come and join us in increasing the alumni participation rate!

One of our dear alumni, Gerald "Bummy" Burstein, ‘50 , issued the Bummy 250 Alumni Challenge, pledging to give $25,000 if 250 alumni made gifts of $25 or more, before December 31, 2007. Well we surpassed that goal and Bummy issued us a second challenge for an additional 250 alumni donors. We need your help! Please make your gift today and help us end the year by saying "YES, Bummy, we met your challenge!!"

Why is alumni giving so important?

When you give, you are:

Letting the world know how much Gallaudet means to you by contributing something to the University’s future.

Showing corporations and foundations that the University is a worthwhile investment for them also. They are more likely to support Gallaudet if they see a high alumni giving rate.

Giving back to a place that made a change in your life.

Making a big difference with your contribution—no matter how you give.

Ask yourself this question: where would I be without Gallaudet?

What will my gift support?

You decide which projects you would like your gift to support. For your convenience we have listed several options to choose from below:
