With Gallaudet being a Diversity Sponsor at the 54th Biennial National Association of the Deaf (NAD) conference in Hartford, CT, July 5-7, the Office of Alumni Relations has been assisting in organizing events for alumni. The office staff hopes you will not only join them at these events and bring on the Gallaudet spirit, but also spread the word to Gallaudet alumni about these events.
Here is what has been planned:
Both Alumni Relations and the Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) will have a booth, so be sure to come visit in the exhibit area at the Connecticut Convention Center, especially if you have a burning question you would like to ask about updates at Gallaudet, sign up to become a GUAA Life Member, the status of your membership, or just to say hi. There will also be booths by both Admissions and the Clerc Center.
On Thursday morning (first day of the conference), July 5, Gallaudet is sponsoring a breakfast from 7 to 8:15 a.m. (doors open at 6:45 a.m.) for alumni and friends in Ballroom A at the Hartford Marriott Hotel. There will be a short program where you will have an opportunity to meet President Cordano, and win a few door prizes while fueling up for the busy day ahead of you. Space is limited to 300 guests so come early if you would like to be part of the fun.
Later that same day (Thursday, July 5), come support Gallaudet as students compete in the College Bowl, Wear your Gallaudet colors and show the others who rocks! Shakers will be provided so you can revive the alumni spirit as you cheer on Gallaudet.
President Cordano is the keynote speaker at the National Deaf Education Conference (NDEC) on Saturday, July 7 and will be giving a presentation on the future of Deaf Education from 8:30 - 9:45 a.m.
Please see the NAD schedule here for additional information.
If you have any questions about any of these events, please feel free to stop by our booth in the exhibit area or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Bring on that strong Gallaudet spirit by stopping by those events booths to say hi, receive updates, and/or to donate.
