GUAA Minnesota Chapter
Cosgrove Celebration Day
Come help us celebrate the memory of James "Martin" Cosgrove on November 7, 2004!
James "Martin" Cosgrove was the first Minnesotan to enter the National Deaf Mutes College, now Gallaudet University, in 1874, after graduating from the Minnesota School for the Deaf. He died unexpectedly at 23 years of age in April, 1878 while a student at Gallaudet. Martin helped pave the way for future generations of Minnesotans attending Gallaudet. We will celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth with various events on November 7.
