Alumni eNewsletter: GUAA Board of Directors meet during Charter Day weekend (Archives)
GUAA Board of Directors met during the Charter Day weekend (April 8). It was the first meeting of the current term (2004-2007). The Board took action on these things:
- Khadijat Kubby Rashid, 90 is appointed to serve on the Graduate Fellowship Fund (GFF) for the 2005-2007 term. This committee oversees the grants supporting deaf and hard of hearing students working toward terminal degrees at colleges and universities other than Gallaudet.
- Contributed $250 to the Leonard M. Elstad, G-23, Endowment Fund in memory of former GUAA Board member, Don G. Pettingill, 76.
- Created a committee to review the GUAA guidelines on the organized travel/tours. Vice President Alyce Slater Lentz, 76, will work with an alumnus with a background in organized travel.
- Created a committee to review the By-Laws and make recommendations for changes. Committee members are Chair Executive Director Sam Sonnenstrahl, 79 & G-84, Home Region Board Member Michael P. Kaika, 72 and Robert B. Weinstock, 77.
