Indiana Chapter of Gallaudet University Alumni Association (GUAA) hosted an annual meeting on August 5, 2006, in Indianapolis. There were 43 active members in attendance including one from Maryland! Issues discussed included scholarship winners from this year and previous years, logo revisions and future events. The two scholarship winners from the Indiana Deaf School for the 2006 year were Amanda Krieger and Bradley Gantt. Congratulations to these two deserving Hoosiers who will go on to study at Gallaudet this fall.
In addition, the chapter was fortunate to have Dr. David Geeslin, the new ISD Superintendent, as our guest speaker. Dr. Geeslin is a former alumni of ISD, and Galludet, with degrees from Purdue University, Boston University and Indiana University. He spoke about the vision for the Indiana Deaf School as a leader in the nation and world wide community with a strong Bi-Bi philosophy and growing enrollment.
